About Lauren J. Hellkamp, LICSW

Lauren J. Hellkamp, LICSW

I believe that everyone can benefit from therapy at some point in their lives. Therapy doesn’t always have to take place because of major life events, it can also be helpful for those daily struggles that are getting in the way of being the best version of ourselves.

I specialize in working with adults and older adolescents facing anxiety and depression, relationship issues, along with general life stress. I employ a compassionate and supportive yet direct approach to treatment. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, so while I typically utilize cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-based interventions, I always modify because I believe in providing personalized treatment that will work best for each individual.

Education

I began my journey to becoming a therapist at Roger Williams University, where I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Psychology. I then went on to Bridgewater State University, where I received my Master of Social Work in 2010. I have worked for over 10 years as a therapist, and I have experience in both inpatient hospital settings along with outpatient settings. These experiences have provided me with a deeper understanding of a wide range of mental health issues that have led me to my current work in private practice.

Feel free to send me a message on my Contact page, I’d love to hear from you!
